OMWF!

One can only hope that this promo DVD is a sign that UPN will release “Once More, With Feeling” on DVD soon.

If you are impatient you can spend upwards of $250 for one episode of Buffy on DVD. (But it _is_ the best hour of TV ever.)

If you are more patient you could just wait ’til July 1st and grab it from alt.binaries.multimedia.buffy-v-slayer.repost.

Say “Yes” to lycra

Here’s my no-spoilers review of Star Wars:

Natalie Portman, aka Senator Babycakes, has 3 or 4 good costumes. Good in the sense that she looks hot while wearing them. (I’m looking forward to the flood of screen caps when the video is released.)

There are also many battles with light sabers.

As soon as I can find the address of the costume designer I will be sending a Thank You card.

Death by Chocolate

Who else was stunned and bewildered by the news story about the bomb sniffing dog at the Mall of America?

It wasn’t shocking that there was a bomb sniffing dog at the mall, what surprised me was the nonchalant way the cop took her dog into a candy store and fed it some chocolate.

It was white chocolate, approximately one ounce.

So off to Google I went, to get the skinny on this whole dogs -vs- chocolate thing.

It turns out that the type of chocolate makes a huge difference in whether or not it’s toxic to a dog or cat.

In the case of the cop’s dog it would take a few hundred pounds of white chocolate to be poisonous, but only a few ounces of baking chocolate would probably kill it.

Why dogs can’t eat chocolate.

Thrice Balanced

Had the wheels balanced by someone actually competent today, i.e. not Tires Plus, and the car is riding much nicer… but I think I may have lost some weights again. :(
Three wheels now have weights on the outside of the rim, where I can easily keep track of them! One wheel doesn’t. I don’t know if that’s because the weights are on the inside or because the weights have fallen off.

I’ll ask the guy tomorrow and/or look for inside weights. In any case it’s much better than before, and I may only need to have one wheel rebalanced (or it that re-re-rebalanced?)

Now what I want is some of these neato balancing beads. I’ve found a place that sells them online, but they’re about $300-$400 a case (enough to do several dozen wheels).

Of course, I could just buy a whole ‘nuther set of wheels and tires, prebalanced, from Tirerack, which would also rid me of those scummy brake dust encrusted wheels. (Grrr, argh!)

Are you being Xerved?

The Xserve media shindig is available online, if you like to watch that sort of thing. I want a couple of ‘em for home.

The video is 97 minutes long but it took me a few hours to get through, as I was mainly watching it during the commercial breaks of Must See TV. (Rachel had the baby (but who will she marry?), the Charmed Ones are still charmed, and the ER may, or may not, have small pox, I need to rewind the tape to see what happened with Will and Grace.)

Speaking of TV, I haven’t been updating my list of random Buffy sightings lately (not that I’ve officially mentioned it here). Here are a few recent sightings: (1) ET mentioned that today is David Boreanaz’s birthday, (2) Charlie Weber (Ben from BtVS season 5) was on a Charmed repeat at 7pm, (3) Abraham Benrubi from ER (and Parker Lewis Can’t Lose) played Olaf the Troll in episode 5.11 of BtVS; last night, (4) Dominic Keating, regular on Enterprise, was a guest star on Buffy back in season three, and (5) Rudolf Martin, who just did the nasty with Hoshi last night on Enterprise, played Dracula(!) in episode 5.01 (”Buffy vs Dracula”) and has been on a few episodes of “24″ as well.

So what has any of that got to do with Fox cancelling Dark Angel? Nothing, other than the fact the Friday night time slot will be occupied by Firefly, a “space Western” created by… drumroll please, Joss Whedon, creator of… Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

(and, I swear to God, Jack on Will and Grace just said “we’ll make popcorn later [and] watch Buffy.”)

The point is that Buffy is taking over, it’s just a matter of time until all movies and TV shows have some sort of Buffy connection.
