Wowsers!
It looks like someone broke into my apartment and cleaned the joint… or at least a 10×15 section of the living room.
You see, if your friends are coming over you don’t need to clean anything (much), but if a total stranger is coming to fix your TV or install cable you have to tidy up the place.
Any day now I’ll call the TV repair guy to get the big TV fixed. In the meantime I’m still slumming with the 20″ TV and watching DVDs on my laptop.

Any idea how much the repair bill will be on your screen? What part of your tv is malfunctioning?

The diagnostic visit will be $65, and then I’ll find out how much the whole fix costs.
Interestingly, I turned it on two days ago and it’s working again, for the moment.
Based on my description of the problem, the guy at the TV repair shop said it was most likely the picture tube — and therefore not worth fixing, price-wise. I think it’s a $10 part that’s going bad… which means it will cost me $200 at least, I’m guessing.
